In the dark and murky terrain of Venezuelan politics, some Pequiven officials have taken the concept of fear and oppression to unsuspected levels. Behind the façade of a government company lies a horror plot that explores the limits of political loyalty and personal survival.
Fear as a Tool of Control:
As a desk analyst at Pequiven for a decade, experiencing fear became a constant. The obligation to participate in pro-regime demonstrations, strategically planned to coincide with opposition protests, created a dangerous environment for me. The demonstrations, instead of being peaceful expressions, ended in conflicts and in some cases deaths between both sides, sowing panic among employees.
The Difficult Choice Between Ideals and Survival:
In this nightmare scenario for me the existential dilemma arises. Discovering that your life is in danger for following imposed political ideals, simply to keep your job, is a terrifying experience. The dilemma between giving in to pressure or rebellion becomes an internal struggle where fear and authenticity collide head-on.
Discrimination for Thinking Differently:
The imposition of a business slogan that calls for political alignment with the government creates a hostile environment for those who do not share the same ideals. Discrimination arises from a clear guideline: working here means adopting the company's political principles, with no room for divergent opinions. Freedom of thought is sacrificed for job security.
The Acces of Justice:
It seems unbelievable, but it was of no use to me to work in what for me was the best company in Venezuela. I presented my complaints to my supervisor, Dalia Bordoñes, Manager (Pequiven), trying to take my frustration and tragedy to the corresponding authorities, seeking support and justice. , because related paramilitary elements of the government were threatening me.
However, the company and the Venezuelan justice system seem to close ranks in a deafening silence when it comes to involving that "illegal executing arm" that is the paramilitaries called collectives. The vulnerability of the employees, unprotected and defenseless, contributes to the feeling of terror that permeates my situation.
Not even taking the complaints to the president of Pequiven, Pedro Rafael Tellechea Ruiz, a military man with influence in the company, provides answers. The lack of attention to complaints reinforces the feeling of impunity and abandonment. In a context in which institutions should ensure the safety and rights of workers, indifference is another element of this horror narrative.
Flight as a Last Resort:
Faced with this terrifying panorama and the latent threats, I was forced to make the difficult decision to flee my job and country. Turned into a "negative interest" for the government, my escape became the last option to preserve my physical and emotional integrity. The escape, far from being a liberation, has left me with a trace of despair and mistrust.
With this I just want to reveal that my story is only a small part of political manipulation, discrimination and abuse of power, the plot uncovers the shadows that lurk in the workplace, where political loyalty becomes currency and Fear becomes the dark ally of those who seek to impose their will at any price.
With this I want to warn about the serious dangers of losing one's voice and autonomy in the political labyrinth of Venezuela.
I am a victim of this.
