Dear members of the International Criminal Court,

With the hope that this message finds you well-being and in the exercise of your important work, we address you on behalf of a group of Venezuelan citizens committed to justice and the defense of human rights.

First of all, we wish to express our deepest gratitude for the dedication and commitment of the International Criminal Court in the pursuit of justice and the protection of fundamental rights around the world. We recognize the invaluable work they do to ensure that crimes against humanity do not go unpunished.

The purpose of this letter is to respectfully request that the International Criminal Court continue and deepen investigations in relation to crimes against humanity that have taken place in Venezuela. We are deeply concerned about the situation in our country and firmly believe in the importance of bringing those responsible for such atrocious acts to justice.

We have had the very unfortunate honor of presenting before you the names of 13 direct victims of the protests and repression in Venezuela, which are presented below:

• Gabriel Blanco.

Each of these cases represents the life of a human being who sought peaceful and just change in our nation. These people, many of them young, lost their lives fighting for freedom, democracy and justice. Their voices, their dreams and their hopes were silenced by unjustified violence and repression.

Today, outside this honorable institution, we have gathered people and testimonies that reflect a small part of the tragedy and suffering that has affected our country. Each case exposed is proof of the pain and injustice suffered by those who sought peaceful and democratic change in Venezuela.

In this regard, we strongly request that the International Criminal Court maintain its commitment to investigating these crimes and bringing those responsible to justice. It is crucial to the restoration of hope in our country and to the defense of human rights around the world.

We greatly appreciate your attention to this matter and trust in the impartial and fair work of this institution. We hope that, with your valuable support, justice can be done and future acts that violate human dignity can be prevented.
